Google is releasing an open source browser called CHROME. So why do we need another browser to compete with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera and Safari?

Google has explained it via a comic strip, a 38 page comic strip. Yep, that’s what I said, a comic strip. You can see the Google Chrome comic strip here: http://www.google.com/googlebooks/chrome/

Chrome builds on components from other open source software, including WebKit and Mozilla, and is aimed at improving stability, speed and security, with a simple and efficient user interface.

Chrome browser beta for the Windows version is due to be released September 2, 2008.
