Loan modifications are being used by many homeowners to reduce their monthly mortgage payments to help the family budget and save their homes. Unfortunately, in order to even negotiate a loan modification it seems you need to be behind on your payments.
According to this article: http://www.courthousenews.com/2010/04/05/26130.htm Chase advised a homeowner to default on their mortgage or they could not negotiate a loan modification. Whey the homeowner complied, Chase promptly foreclosed on their mortgage.
The banksters are tricky, unscrupulous and deceitful. Seems they will pull the rug out from under you any way they can.
