I got an email from Ancestry.com entitled “Who Do You Think You Are?” asking me to watch an upcoming television show that they say “is a unique show that takes a personal look into the family stories of seven celebrities, while helping people everywhere understand what they could discover about their own family history.”

Some time back, I played with Ancestry.com a little, but didn’t sign up as I had better things to spend money on. But what I find funny is the title “Who Do You Think You Are”. I KNOW who I am … not just my name, or this body I inhabit (which I call MY RIDE). I am a divine spirit on a journey in this flesh and blood vehicle which is riding on a planet spinning in space.

What would REALLY be interesting is if we could trace our ancestry back to the beginning! I can’t find any ancestors past my great grandparents. Other than rumors from my family of who our ancestors were, there is no real proof I came from that famous family line. Furthermore, I’m not sure I want to be associated with them as they were Conquistadors and weren’t very nice to the indigenous people they met.

Just a personal observation.
